2018 Ice Fishing Derbies Free Fishing/Family Day Weekend

It’s free fishing weekend in Ontario!  That means you can get out and try your luck on the ice without the need for a license.  There are a number of events happening across the province.  Derbies, outtings, lessons and so much more.  Here we’ve listed our favourite Ice Fishing Derbies for the free family fishing weekend.  These are the most popular derbies with the highest prize values.  Have fun!

Lake Simcoe Championship – Not only are they giving away 10 cash prizes from $10,000 to $250, but an added bonus of extra random draw prizes … all participants entered, you must be at the Awards Ceremony to win.

Elliot Lake Ice Fishing Derby – Elliot Lake’s Annual Ice Fishing Derby takes place on Horne Lake each February. Grand Prize is Half the Purse. Top Ten Prizes Guaranteed, plus thousands in other prizes.

Kempenfelt Bay Ice Fishing Derby – Since the Simcoe County Home Builders Association launched its first Ice Fishing Tournament back in 2006.  The event has been successfully helping local charities and at the same time providing a fun filled day of fishing camaraderie.  This event takes place on Lake Simcoe – Barrie.
